Yet ANOTHER idiot pot smokers writes:

Ima bite the troll bait. "why we shouldn't use mind-altering drugs" Don;t use caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, Ibuprofen ,Acetaminophen, etc. Yep we shouldn't be using "mind altering drugs" These are all legal mind altering drugs(that have killed more then Marijuana with 0 deaths). Hell caffeine is in most drinks. But hey don't use any of them, according to your logic aspirin is bad. LOL.. Trolls.

WEED Cured his Grandfather's Cancer! Happy 420, Stoners!!

So someone from a site called "Stoner's Corner", who has an email with the number "420" in it, says:

"my grandads cancer got cured with weed .. the doctors said. where u at ?"

Oh brother! Comments like these are the entire reason I have been forced to keep speaking up against pot all these years. Just the fact that he calls it "weed" is a red flag! And then he runs a site about "Stoners" and has "420" in his email. Does that sound like a TRUE medical user or supporter to any of you? Of course not. This is why I keep speaking up against pot. All the casual users rave about the medical benefits in order to justify getting high (while cussing me out, threatening me, attacking my religion, my looks, my sex life, making mean videos and websites about me, making fun of me for collecting dolls, etc. --and yes the booze drinkers do this as well), and even the "medical" marijuana users have been horrible like the casual users! They'll cuss me out and threaten me and make fun of me for "playing with dolls", all the while telling me that "weed is medicine!" Even the "nice" ones who don't cuss me out honestly can't see why we shouldn't use mind-altering drugs RECREATIONALLY. How can anybody support them when they are like that? They aren't TRUE medical users or supporters! I have yet to find one single TRUE medical user or supporter online, in the last 15 years I've been on the Internet.

A lovely pot smoker writes:

"weed is safer than alcohol, it's actually safer than peanuts ... like the size of your brain :)"

AARGGHHHH! It is comments like these that are the entire reason I have been forced to keep speaking up against pot year after year. I never even THOUGHT about pot before we got the Internet and learned how pot smokers think! But as I've explained a billion times, the entire reason we all need to keep speaking up against pot is because the pot smokers always accuse us of being against pot because it's all dangerous and deadly and ruins your life. NOBODY THINKS THAT. It doesn't even occur to them that we are against it because it's a mind-altering drug! They honestly think that if only we knew that people die from peanuts and that "nobody has ever died from weed", that we'd realize it's okay to light up a joint, smoke it and get high!

And I have said over and over that we shouldn't smoke pot OR drink alcohol! How hard is that?? The booze drinkers all use the same lame excuses to justify THEIR drug use!

Cindy just relax and spark up a blunt

A wonderful, kindly gentleman writes:

"shut the fuck up weed is less harmful then alcohol and its is used to treat some of the most harmful illnesses in the world such as cancer. im sure someone in ur life has died from cancer so i find it sad that u bash the treatments and the people that use it medically to treat something that has claimed so many lifes. now SHUT THE FUCK UP AND EDUCATE UR SELF ABOUT A TOPIC/SUBSTANCE BEFORE PREACHING UR NARROW MINDED VIEWS TO OTHER PEOPLE"

And people wonder why we all need to keep speaking up against pot even more.

I JUST READ THAT TODAY IS "NATIONAL WINE DAY"! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! After all the years I have ranted against alcohol, and they have a whole DAY set up to celebrate booze???

Alcohol is a direct cause of seven forms of cancer, finds study
Analysis implicates alcohol in development of breast, liver and other types of cancer and says even moderate consumption is a risk

Alcohol causes seven forms of cancer, and people consuming even low to moderate amounts are at risk, according to new analysis.
Health experts endorsed the findings and said they showed that ministers should initiate more education campaigns in order to tackle widespread public ignorance about how closely alcohol and cancer are connected. The study sparked renewed calls for regular drinkers to be encouraged to take alcohol-free days, and for alcohol packaging to carry warning labels.
Fresh analysis of evidence accumulated over recent years implicates alcohol in the development of breast, colon, liver and other types of cancer.
The study, published in the scientific journal Addiction, concludes that there is more than simply a link or statistical association between alcohol and cancer that could be explained by something else. There is now enough credible evidence to say conclusively that drinking is a direct cause of the disease, according to Jennie Connor, of the preventive and social medicine department at Otago University in New Zealand.
“There is strong evidence that alcohol causes cancer at seven sites in the body and probably others,” Connor said. “Even without complete knowledge of biological mechanisms [of how alcohol causes cancer], the epidemiological evidence can support the judgment that alcohol causes cancer of the oropharynx, larynx, oesophagus, liver, colon, rectum and breast.”
Alcohol-related deaths in England up 4% in one year

Growing evidence suggested that alcohol was also likely to cause skin, prostate and pancreatic cancer, she added. Emphasising that a drinker’s risk increased in relation to the amount consumed, Connor said: “For all these there is a dose-response relationship.”
Connor arrived at her conclusions after studying reviews undertaken over the past 10 years by the World Cancer Research Fund, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the World Health Organisation’s cancer body, and other authoritative bodies.
“The highest risks are associated with the heaviest drinking but a considerable burden is experienced by drinkers with low to moderate consumption, due to the distribution of drinking in the population,” Connor said. Campaigns to reduce alcohol consumption should therefore try to encourage everyone to cut down, as targeting only heavy drinkers had “limited potential” to reduce alcohol-related cancer, she added.
In February Prof Dame Sally Davies, the chief medical officer for England, caused a stir by warning women that drinking alcohol could cause breast cancer. She told a parliamentary hearing: “Do as I do when I reach for my glass of wine. Think: do I want the glass of wine or do I want to raise my own risk of breast cancer? I take a decision each time I have a glass.”
Davies played a key role in drawing up new government guidelines on safe drinking limits, published in January, which recommended that men reduce their maximum weekly intake of alcohol from 21 to 14 units, or seven pints of beer a week, which is the longstanding threshold that women are advised not to exceed.
The growing evidence of alcohol’s role in causing cancer, underlined by a report by the UK Committee on Carcinogenicity, was a key reason behind Davies and her counterparts in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland issuing advice that some said was impractical and would be ignored. Sticking to the new guidelines would help keep drinkers’ risk of cancer low, the proponents said.

Dr Jana Witt, Cancer Research UK’s health information officer, said: “We know that nine in 10 people aren’t aware of the link between alcohol and cancer. And this review is a stark reminder that there’s strong evidence linking the two.”
A recent CRUK study found that when people were shown a list of different cancers, only one in five of them knew that breast cancer could be caused by drinking, compared to four out of five people who knew that alcohol could cause liver cancer.
“Having some alcohol-free days each week is a good way to cut down on the amount you’re drinking,” Witt said. “Also, try swapping every other alcoholic drink for a soft drink, choosing smaller servings or less alcoholic versions of drinks, and not keeping a stock of booze at home.”
Alan Boobis, professor of biochemical pharmacology at Imperial College London, said the science showing alcohol’s role in cancer was well established. “The main difficulty is communicating effectively with the public,” he said.

Connor’s study also found that people who smoke and drink are at even greater risk of developing cancer.
More positively, there was some evidence that drinkers who gave up alcohol could reverse their risk of laryngeal, pharyngeal and liver cancer, and that their risk reduced the longer they avoided alcohol, Connor’s research found.
Elaine Hindal, chief executive of Drinkaware, the alcohol industry-funded education charity, agreed that drinking and cancer risk were closely linked.
“Regularly drinking more than the government’s low-risk guidelines puts you at increased risk of some types of cancer, and can also increase your risk of heart and liver disease, strokes and pancreatitis,” she said. “Smoking and drinking together increases your risk of developing throat and mouth cancer more than doing either on their own.”
People drinking more than the recommended limits should cut down in order to safeguard their future health, she added.

But as I've said a billion times, even if alcohol were good for you, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong! You wouldn't smoke pot, would you? Of course not, because "drugs are bad" and you aren't a drug user. But ALCOHOL is a drug! A casual booze drinker is no better than a casual pot smoker except they aren't breaking the law! And we will NEVER get the pot smokers to understand why it's wrong and immature to use drugs, as long as people use alcohol. Their number one excuse is, "Pot is safer than alcohol." I tell them over and over, "We shouldn't use EITHER of these things! How hard is that?" But it's like talking to a wall, and they continue to cuss me out, threaten me, attack my religion, my looks, my sex life, make mean videos and websites and memes about me, make fun of me for collecting dolls, tell me to kill myself, etc. But then again, most of the booze drinkers online do the same things. This shows you why we all need to speak up against pot and alcohol even MORE!

A Gentleman Shouldn't Swear in Front of a Lady! (Or should he?)

Every time I speak up against profanity and say things like, "A gentleman shouldn't swear in front of a lady," I get all kinds of mean, nasty comments, people cussing me out, etc. Here is the latest one:

"Gentlemen shouldn't swear in front of a lady"? Bitch please.. Equal rights!

Sunday, May 21, 2017

So a lovely woman writes:

“You need a stiff penis I think. Geeze woman. Does anyone get high around you?  Try to pressure you into smoking? If not, why the fuck does it bother you so bad. Yes. Profanity. Yes, I am a woman. Yes I know, horrible, horrible woman. Never gonna find a husband. Will make a horrible mother...I’ve tried marijuana like once or twice. It wasn’t for me. I am not a fan of it. But do I go around getting on everyone’s ass about smoking? No. You give Christians a horrible name. you are just turning people away instead of inviting them in.”

Sigh. Where do I start. First of all, what a thing to say, about needing a “stiff penis.” Seriously. How can you be so crude and offensive and unladylike? And nobody gets high around me or pressures me into smoking. Nobody has ever offered me pot or talked about it to me or anything. And I was a teen in the 70s! Same for my husband! And why does it “bother me”? As I’ve said a billion times, I never even think about pot in my daily life! I’ve never even SEEN marijuana. But boy have you guys opened my eyes! Now I realize we all need to speak up against pot and that it should be illegal forever, with very stiff penalties!

And yes, it’s terrible you use profanity. And it drives me nuts when people accuse me of saying you are “never gonna find a husband.” That is not what I am saying! I am saying that you need to be aware of the TYPE of guy you would attract if you use profanity! Can’t you see my point? Don’t you want to marry a NICE guy? Someone who will be a good father to your children someday? Aren’t you worth that? Do you think a truly nice guy is going to be interested in a young lady who swears, talks about stiff penises and sees nothing wrong with smoking pot? And my point is that a GOOD mother would know not to use profanity or smoke pot!

Speaking of which, you admit you tried pot? This makes me so mad! I have spoken up against pot for 15 years online! Haven’t you read a thing I have written? And where did you even FIND marijuana? It is against the law! What if you had gotten caught? I have seen kids go through hell in the court room just for having an empty pipe, even if the pipe wasn't theirs and they never smoked pot, and yet you got away with using it? And who are you that you’re above the law? Casual users and people who just “try it once or twice”, by their sheer numbers, help keep the whole illegal drug trade in business and all the crime and violence by the cartels! Don’t you read the news? And there have been lots of people online speaking up about this, how we all need to get people to stop buying illegal drugs because of the crime and violence, how it trickles down and affects EVERYONE. By you trying pot once or twice, you contributed to the whole drug war! And then you just say “it wasn’t for you”? You didn’t even see why it is IMMORAL and just plain immature to use mind-altering drugs recreationally?

And how do I give Christians a bad name? By saying we shouldn’t use drugs and profanity? That gives Christians a bad name? And it drives me nuts when people blame my religion on my stance on drugs and alcohol. As I’ve said a million times, you don’t have to be Mormon or religious to know not to smoke pot or drink alcohol or use profanity. It’s just common sense and maturity! I wasn’t even religious in high school or college and I sure never smoked POT. You had to be a totally different person to do such a thing! Nobody even OFFERED it to me! Same for my husband! And we shouldn’t use alcohol, either. Alcohol is a drug. Just because it’s legal doesn’t make it right. My point is that a grown adult should be well past the age where they’d want to use a mind-altering drug. People need to grow up and set an example. And using profanity is just crude and offensive. We need to have manners and be ladylike. I hope this answers all your questions. Thank you and have a good day.

A woman writes:

"...I don't care what others do, as long as it doesn't affect others. My friends who do use recreationally (not even a lot of them do) actually own houses, have jobs, go hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling. They buy legally and smoke legally at home. They don't use in public, or when other people who don't smoke are present."

People tell me this ALL THE TIME online, as if that makes it okay to smoke pot! They honestly think that if only I knew that pot smokers lead good, productive lives and are well-rounded and go hiking, that I'd suddenly realize it's okay to light up a joint, smoke it and get high! She doesn't understand that having a good job and owning a house and having hobbies makes it makes it WORSE that they smoke pot, because they of ALL people should know better. They set a terrible example and go against everything that most parents try to teach their kids about drugs and life. And how does she have friends who smoke pot? I don't know anybody in real life who smokes pot, approves of it or even knows where to find marijuana!

This woman illustrates why we all need to speak up against pot even MORE. She is yet ANOTHER Internet person who accuses me of thinking that anybody who smokes pot is a stupid, lazy bum lying in a gutter somewhere. Nobody thinks that! It doesn't even occur to her that we are against pot because it's a mind-altering drug! We all need to speak up against pot not because of marijuana itself, but because of the people who use and defend it!

Flirting at the Gym

"You should totally light up. Sit on a beach, smoke a bowl and watch a sunset. I guarantee you'll enjoy it. Nothing better."

This is from a mother of two, who claims to use marijuana for "medical" reasons, treating depression and anxiety. She sees nothing wrong with using marijuana recreationally, uses the age-old excuse that pot is "safer than alcohol and cigarettes", and says she has never been arrested because she is white and drives a mini-van. And when I tried to help her understand why we shouldn't use mind-altering drugs recreationally, she just didn't get it. I told her she can't be a TRUE medical user if she sees nothing wrong with using pot casually. She told me:

"It helps me, just as it helps other people. Panic attacks and depressive episodes are under control. That makes it okay."

But when I tried to help her understand that a TRUE medical user would agree with me that we shouldn't use drugs recreationally, all she said was:

"So your definition of a medical user is that they think 'recreational' use is wrong? Yeah, you won't find those people."

It is so depressing. I have been trying for YEARS to find a true medical user online, and have yet to find one. They are all alike. And even the "medical marijuana" companies are like this. They post things on their sites and Facebook pages proving that they think nothing is wrong with recreational drug use, and if you confront them about it they cuss you out and block you. How can we ever be in favor of medical marijuana if this is what "medical" users, supporters, growers and suppliers are like? We will all have to even be against MEDICAL marijuana, because obviously there are no TRUE medical users!! As this mother of two said, "you won't find those people."

How to Make the Best PB&J

A reader named Jim asks,
"why is it wrong to swear, according to you? taking out religious reasons"

It's not wrong to swear, it's perfectly fine and normal and good, all parents teach their kids to swear, every child when it's born, the parents hold it in their arms and says, "Oh I love you so much my darling baby I so hope you grow up and cuss like a sailor."

This is a comment by a woman named Rose, a grandmother like me, who usually cusses away and thinks religion is hogwash. She uses the Bible to justify pot smoking:

"The first mention of kaneh-bosm in the Old Testament appears with the prophet-shaman Moses...The sacred character of hemp in biblical times is evident from Exodus 30:22-33, where Moses was instructed by God to anoint the meeting tent and all its furnishings with specially prepared oil, containing hemp."

An idiot pot smoker writes:

"for all your bull shit you never actually give any points against pot you nut job maybe try praying it away lol"

Seriously, I should post a comment from a pot smoker every single day, just to PROVE why we all need to speak up against pot and why it should be illegal forever, with VERY STIFF PENALTIES. Do we really want people like this walking around actually USING a mind-altering drug? HECK NO!

Papercut PSA

Ranting the Same Things Over and Over

A pot smoker writes,

"You rant the same things over and over."

And this is why we all need to speak up against pot even more. This person shouldn't even be THINKING about such things as marijuana. I never do!

Sunday, April 09, 2017

This nice pot smoker is one of many who has educated me so much:
"I don't see you attacking anti depressants or other prescription pills. There are plenty of prescription pills that do very similar if not worse. Hydrocodone will do a hell of a lot more than pot will... And pot doesn't "alter" your mind at all. It doesn't change anything in your mind at all. You're just trying to do your little research without ever knowing. I'd love to stuff some weed up that uptight vagina of yours.. Maybe it'll loosen you up some.."

Wednesday, April 05, 2017

A guy named "Halloween Fanatic" asks:
"How can you be so against something you haven't even tried? Seems kind of stupid to me.."

It drives me nuts when people ask me this, and believe me, they have asked me this a billion times the past 15 years online, and it is one of the main reasons I realize we all need to speak up against pot even MORE, and why it should be illegal forever, with every stiff penalties! Do we really want people like this walking around actually USING a mind-altering drug? Someone who would ask me how I can be "so against something I haven't even tried"?

I have explained over and over that you don't have to have tried pot to know that people use it to get high, stoned, buzzed, relax, have "fun", enjoy life, etc. Pot smokers ADMIT this to us all the time online, and we BELIEVE them! And that is why we are against it! That is what makes it wrong! We shouldn't use mind-altering drugs for these reasons, this is good morals and just plain common sense! What parent would ever raise their kids to grow up and get high on POT? At any age? And it is ILLEGAL! Parents HAVE to make sure their kids obey the law! No parent wants to bail their child out of jail, or have them lose their scholarship or job opportunities! And I say the same things about alcohol! Pot smokers all think I'm just so "hung up on pot", like I think it's the most dangerous, deadliest thing known to man. THAT IS NOT TRUE. Nobody thinks that! It doesn't even OCCUR to them that I'm against pot because it's a mind-altering drug. "What do you have against fun?" they ask me. "It isn't wrong to alter your mind!" And then they try to compare smoking pot to everyday activities like reading, watching TV, jogging, and eating, which they claim are all "mind-altering."

And these pot smokers think that I must be sitting here with my nose in the air, turning down offers right and left to try pot. Again, it is ILLEGAL! Even if I wanted to try it, how could I? Where would I even FIND marijuana? And even if I knew where to find it, you think I'd risk getting busted? And even if it were legal, I wouldn't want to  use it. I am a grown adult and well past the age where I'd want to use a mind-altering drug to get high, stoned, buzzed, relax, have "fun", etc. And it is against my religion! I'm a convert to the Mormon Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and we have revelation from God saying why it is wrong to use mind-altering drugs like pot and alcohol. Using drugs like this to have "fun" is not what TRUE fun is. If I smoked pot to get high, I'd have to drop out of my church! But I never smoked pot even BEFORE I had religious beliefs! Nobody ever offered me pot or talked about it to me or anything! And I was a teen in the 70s! Same for my husband! And we sure don't know anybody NOW who smokes pot, approves of it or knows where to find it. But every time I mention my religion, the pot smokers blame THAT on my stance on drugs, accusing me of being a "brainwashed Mormon."

Again, I never even THOUGHT about pot before all this Internet stuff came along. I never smoked pot, I've never even SEEN marijuana. But boy have the pot smokers opened my eyes! I now realize we need to speak up about pot even MORE, and that it should be illegal forever, with very stiff penalties! Not because of marijuana itself, but because of the people who use and defend it!  Do we really want people like this walking around actually USING a mind-altering drug? Heck no!

I Have Never Tried Marijuana and Therefore Need to Shut Up and Not Judge

A gentleman by the name of Diego writes:

"shut the fuck upppp you have never tried it so don't judge it and you know nothing about it"

Yes folks, this is who we are legalizing marijuana for!

Monday, April 03, 2017

A guy named Derek writes:

Honestly you are one of the craziest people I have ever seen on this subject. I can understand that you are against alcohol and I can see how you are against marijuana seeing as I was against it for the longest time until I realized there are no negative effects it had on your body like most other drugs and alcohol. Look you need to relax you're getting all worked up over someone smoking a plant that has no harm to their body or others around them.

Yes folks, THIS is the type of person we are legalizing "weed" for! This guy is just like all the others, where he honestly thinks that if only I knew how safe marijuana is and that it's a plant, I'd realize it's okay! And he doesn't even care that it's illegal! Do we really want people like him walking around actually USING a mind-altering drug? HECK NO!

Smart, Mature, Respected Person Asks Why I'm Against Drugs

A reader named Chuck writes:

"Cindy, We all know you are very against recreational usage, but WHY? Provide facts, and links to your evidence."

Chuck says that he is nearly 50, that his parents taught him morals, the US Army taught him maturity, he is the first person in his family to get a college degree, he is currently working on his masters degree, he is a respected member of his professional community and a published author as well. "I think I'm doing rather well for myself," he tells me. And yet he wants to know why I'm against recreational drug use.

Monday, March 27, 2017

A nice young woman, mother of a darling baby, wrote to me to defend marijuana:

"just so you know high fructose corn syrup is also a mind altering drug and it's in nearly every food you eat so think about that one honey you've been eating a mind altering drug all your life"

And pot smokers wonder why I say we need to keep speaking up against pot even more.

Ellen Dissects the Kid-Interrupted BBC Interview

Someone named Ian writes:

"I have never smoked pot and I don't plan to but what's bad about it,its not that addictive and you can't over dose on it,doctors even prescribe it,for stress or help glaucoma .I'm just wondering if you have looked at the flip side to your argument.I have to agree with you about alcohol but I'm still on the fence about pot,tbh pot is prob safer than drinking"

The number one excuse pot smokers give to justify their drug use is that "Pot is safer than alcohol." And they all tell me that "weed isn't addictive" and that "nobody has died from weed." As I've said a billion times, we shouldn't smoke pot OR drink alcohol.

And nobody is against MEDICINE. Medicine is something people use to treat an illness or condition they don't want to have in the first place. But I have yet to find one single TRUE medical user online. And getting high on POT is not the way to deal with stress!

And it is illegal in most states! Kids can get into big trouble with the law if they get busted for trying pot out of peer pressure. It won't help to tell the judge that doctors prescribe it for stress or glaucoma.

I'm a Heartless Grandmother, or "Why Pot Should Be Illegal"

A non-smoker tells me:

"...the fact you really don't care about the repercussions of pot prohibition is actually terrifying and deeply concerning, all jokes aside.

Are you honesty so blinded by personal beliefs that you can't even consider the harm that the repercussions may bring to your family, friends, neighbours, and society as whole?

You've said on your blog that you are a grandmother? Quite frankly you must be a pretty heartless grandmother, then. You've made it very clear that you care more about stoners and a stupid plant than you do your own family! Are you really proud of that? It just baffles me."

"and i assume you have never done drug or ever drink,,, sitting all high and mighty hiding behind a banner of christian values .. go eat some shrooms already and expand your mind already you under evolved human .."

Toxic Legend: "Hey cindy, you really need to smoke some weed. It will help you with your problems."

Saturday, February 18, 2017

Stop accusing me of being against "weed" because "some pot smokers have been mean to me"! And stop bringing up the law and telling me the benefits of making pot legal! The more you guys do this, the more I realize we all need to speak up against pot even MORE, and that it should be illegal forever, with VERY STIFF PENALTIES! You guys shouldn't even be THINKING about pot! I sure never do! I've never even SEEN marijuana! Nobody has ever offered it to me or anything! And I was a teen in the 70s! Same for my husband! And we sure don't know anybody NOW who smokes pot, approves of it or knows where to find it! It is ILLEGAL! Even if it were legal it doesn't make it right! What parent would ever raise their kids to grow up and smoke POT? At any age? What a thing to do!

So again, STOP accusing me of being against "weed" because of pot smokers being mean to me, and STOP telling me all the benefits of making "weed" legal! Just the fact that you would even use the term "weed" is a red flag! Grow up already! Stop thinking about pot!

[Part 1/2]

Cindy, you seem to have completely ignored everything that I've just said to you.

You say that you and your husband never smoked pot as kids/teens. And you don't know anyway who smokes it? Okay, but that is entirely irrelevant and I don't see why you're bringing this up. What does this have to do with anything that we are discussing?

Just because you didn't smoke pot as a teen does not mean every teenager will be the same. The fact is; millions of people, many of which are teens will want to smoke pot - and regardless of what you say, they will not change their mind. So simply saying "no one should smoke pot" will do NOTHING to help the problem. Kids will do things they shouldn't do ... Not every kid, but many. So our best course of action is to protect them from this; and legalizing will help to do so.

For example let's look at alcohol; is it good for you? Hell no! Do I support alcohol? No... But do I think it should be illegal? Most definitely not because making it illegal will not get rid of it; it will make access easier to teens, and adults will be able to get it too. There would also be an insane loss of income to the government and a surge in crime profits.

Weed is the same (well it's not the same exactly but I'll get to that later.) but it's the same in the sense that making it illegal doesn't make it go away, and telling people not to use it will not ever make them stop using it! In fact if regulated/legalized there would likely be measures taken to actually help people quit... Such as an addiction hotline phone number on every purchase of recreational weed from a dispensary. Just as cigarettes (in my country at least) MUST have warnings and extensive anti-smoking pamphlets, and ways to help someone quit smoking included in the pack of smokes.
Anonymous said...
[Part 2/2]

Just because you tell people to stop something does not mean that they will! Some might, but most definitely not everyone, and in fact MOST people will not stop something because someone tells them to with no reasoning for it. Weed will never go away, Cindy. Never.

Weed will never go away. I'm going to repeat this a few times to let it sink in.

Weed will never go away. Pot will never go away. Marijuana will never go away. Dope will never go away. Grass will never go away.

People will never stop smoking weed. People will never stop smoking weed.
People will never stop smoking weed. People will never stop smoking weed.
People will never stop smoking weed. People will never stop smoking weed.

Okay, got it? Weed is here to stay; and that leaves us with either the option of illegal or legal.

Legalizing will:
*Take profits away from criminals.
*Prevent the pot from being laced or contaminated with drugs that actually cause damage.
*Keep it away from kids and teens.
*provide a better income to governments that can be used to improve communities.
*Free up police time, effort and jail space for criminals who are really doing dangerous and awful things.
*Raise public awareness on real facts about marijuana

Keeping it illegal will:
*Feed money to potentially harmful criminals
*Provide easy access of pot to teens.
*Waste jail space and police time while some REAL criminals like people who steal kill and rape are running free.
*Allow for potential of fatal drugs being laced with pot and then killing people.

So which scenario looks better to you? Legalizing or keeping it illegal? I will take legalization ANYDAY! And I'd think anyone who truly cares about society would agree.

Also... Why should marijuana be illegal for adults to smoke anyway? With substances like cigarettes and alcohol there is at least an argument that they are not only detrimental to a person's health but drinking and hard drugs also cause potential for those people to injure or kill others. But marijuana does not have those qualities, and relatively no negative connotations or affects, so I don't see why it should be disallowed or discouraged in any way.

Dear Anonymous, AARGGHHH Have you not read a thing I have written over the years?? I have said a billion times that even if "weed" were legal it doesn't make it right to use it to get high and stoned and have "fun", and it doesn't mean YOU have to use it! Aren't you better than that? That is what I tell all the pot smokers I see online who admit to us all that they smoke pot! I am just trying to get them to THINK, to realize there is a better way to live! People need to grow up and set an example! And it makes me FURIOUS that guys always tell me about how making pot legal will take profits away from criminals, blah blah blah. Again, THAT ISN'T THE POINT! Comments like yours make me realize pot should be illegal forever, with VERY STIFF PENALTIES. Not because of marijuana itself, but because of the people who use and defend it! Like you! YOu JUST DON'T GET IT. STOP FOCUSING ON THE LAW, stop telling me all this stuff about the benefits of making "weed" legal! THAT ISN'T THE POINT! YOu shouldn't even be THINKING about "weed"! I sure never do! I have never even SEEN marijuana!Nobody ever offered it to me or talked about it to me or anything! And I was a teen in the 70s! Same for my husband! And we sure don't know anybody NOW who smokes pot, approves of it or knows where to find it! It is ILLEGAL! Even if pot were legal, what parent would ever raise their kids to grow up and get high on marijuana? At any age? Most parents try to teach their kids morals, values and common sense to know that this is wrong! And I know many of these same parents think nothing of using a mind-altering drug in the form of alcohol, but they are hypocrites. A casual booze drinker is no better than a casual pot smoker except they aren't breaking the law. People need to grow up and set an example!
