BEER DRINKER PROVES WHY WE ALL NEED TO KEEP SPEAKING UP AGAINST ALCOHOL IN ORDER TO HELP POT SMOKERS Gunvalds Bryggeri: You can drink beer without getting drunk, but you can't smoke pot for any other reason than getting high. Beer + food = true love. I wouldn't imagine a fine dinner without beer. You drink beer because you like the taste of it. If you want to get drunk you can always buy 97% ABV ethanol. I just came home from the liqour store. I bought 4 beers with an ABV under 5%, that won't make me even close to drunk. Besides, there is nothing wrong at all to get a bit tipsy time from time. After a hard week of work, studies or whatever it is as right as it could be. Beer is a huge part of Europes culture, and in later years also Americas. Beer has excisted for 7000 years. There is a good reason that it is still the most popular beverage in the world today. It also saved mankind when the water was infected with deadly bacteria... I am not trying to be rude, I am trying to help you to understand. You are being extremely narrow-minded. Because from what I understand from you, no one in the entire world should drink beer... because the MORMONS say so? Hell, it is like saying that everyone should blow them self up just because Al-Queda and IS does that... It is perfectly fine if you wish to take distance from drinking, but let people who enjoy beer drink beer, damn it! And people like me are not encouraging pot smokers to use narcotics. I do know a pot smoker, and he is never like "Damn, Gunvald is having a beer. I should shoot up heroin in my ass!". It does not work that way. If I see a small child eating candy, my urges to buy a new appartment doesn't increase. Do you know what happened during the prohibition? People started to brew their own beverages. The consumtion did never went down. It increased. What I don't get is what is YOUR problem with beer drinkers? If I'd have a beer now, nothing would affect you in any way. I know what your RELIGIONS problem with beer is. It is like most wrong interpretations of any religion: "It says like this in a man made book, it must be right". I bet that if some dude took LSD and wrote a new book, "The Book Of Mormon 2.0 - Return of the Dragon Testicle", and wrote a line about how good drugs were, suddenly alot of people would justify their drug use just because the book says so. But if we turn this around, you are doing the opposite. You are trying to make people feel bad, feel guilt, just because they drink alcohol and the book of YOUR religion says that it is wrong. It is not OUR religion Cindy, it is your beliefes. And if you want restrictions in your life, go on. But don't force others to think like you do. I want to set one conclusion of this. Whatever relevation some crazy guy had that you can relate to, good for you. But leave the others out of this. We don't believe in Mormon, you don't believe in the legal rights for someone to drink a beer. Don't say that drinking beer is wrong, because it is not. But to force your religion upon others is an unforgivable sin. Now I am going to have some coffee... On monday I will brew BEER. Cindybin:
You still don't get it. Even if you don't get DRUNK, it's still not right to use alcohol! People use it to get that "buzz", just like someone who might take a few tokes off a marijuana joint would. You could smoke a little bit of a joint and not get totally "high", but it still doesn't make it right. Just like if you take a few sips of alcohol, you wouldn't get DRUNK, but it still doesn't make it right.
I have explained over and over that I'm a convert to the Mormon Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and we have The Word of Wisdom which is revelation from God saying that alcohol, tea, coffee, cigarettes and mind-altering drugs like marijuana are not for the body. We are taught the moral and physical reasons to avoid using these things. This HELPS us. It is good to understand why we shouldn't use mind-altering drugs to have "fun", get buzzed, etc. That is not what TRUE fun is. The LDS church is the TRUE church, restored on the Earth in the latter days by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It has the fullness of the gospel, the correct doctrines, and will bring you closer to Jesus Christ and the Bible than any other church. God has told us not to drink alcohol or use mind-altering drugs like marijuana recreationally! He doesn't say that it's okay to drink a little "in moderation" as long as you don't get drunk. We shouldn't drink at all! YOU can be a Mormon too, you know. It's not some closed group! That is why I am telling you about this, to HELP you!
And again, a casual booze drinker is no better than a casual pot smoker, except they aren't breaking the law. Pot smokers always use the excuse that "pot is safer than alcohol." They see so many people just like you, who say that it's okay to drink "in moderation" as long as you don't get drunk, blah blah blah. So then of course they feel it's okay to smoke pot "in moderation" as long as they don't get totally stoned out of their gourd. But that is not true! We shouldn't smoke pot OR drink alcohol, at all!!!
And it drives me nuts that you guys say that beer is a huge part of culture and that people have been drinking it for billions of years, blah blah blah. THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT AND IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO! Aren't you better than that?? Again, alcohol is a DRUG. Just because it's legal doesn't make it right!
And one of the main reasons beer has been around for so long is because of the unsafe water! They had to drink this! But again, that doesn't make it right. Alcohol is a drug. It is a TOXIN. It is a highly-addictive psychoactive drug! It is not good to drink alcohol at all!
And I am not FORCING my religion on you! I can't FORCE anybody to do anything! I don't even know you guys! All I do is react to what you tell me on the Internet. And we are all here to make decisions in life, to exercise our free agency, to learn and grow spiritually. That's what life is all about! But do you REALLY think it's a wise decision to consume a toxic, highly-addictive psychoactive DRUG to relax and unwind, get "buzzed", have "fun", etc.? Aren't you better than that? Of course you are!
And if you would read the Book of Mormon and study, ponder and pray and ask God if it is true, you will receive an answer. You can't just say that you don't believe in it, because you haven't read the Book of Mormon! You need to do that! It will HELP you. It will change your life! You will not WANT to consume a mind-altering drug!
But again, my husband isn't even Mormon and HE doesn't drink. You don't have to be Mormon or even religious to know not to drink. It is just common sense!
