I was shocked to hear of the death a few days ago of Samantha Juste, first wife of Monkee Micky Dolenz.

Samantha was such a cute "60's girl". She worked as a teenage model in England, and also was known as the “disc girl” on British television, spinning records for the BBC’s “Top of the Pops,” a teen music show. She even made a few records herself, including “No One Needs My Love Today” which she performed on Top of the Pops in 1966.

She met Dolenz in 1967 through her job, and they were married the next year. The couple had a daughter, Ami, in 1969. Micky said Samantha brought order and sophistication to his home. However, by his own admissions, the former Monkee was not a good husband (too much partying and running around), and he and Samantha divorced in 1975, although they did reconcile as friends years later.

A breast cancer survivor, Samantha suffered a major stroke in her sleep on February 2 and never recovered. She died on February 5 at the age of 69.

Here are a few photos of Samantha, along with some video links. I hope you enjoy them.
