Commenting on Cindybin's Blog

Just a quick note: If any of you even hope to get your comment approved on my blog, please remember to not use bad language. That includes nothing crude or offensive like the a-word, the b-word, the c-word, the d-word, the f-word and the t-word. Thank you for your cooperation.

What is the T-word? Oops, I used 'the'. I know of no such words.

The t-word is something that rhymes with "it" that some people use to call women's breasts.

Hey Cindy,
Do you think we should outlaw caffeine as well, as it can alter the mind...You know, energizing tired folks and stuff. That's not one's natural state.

And what about sugar? Science tells us that ancient peoples likely did not suffer from dental caries, and this was because their diets were void of sugar. Now, thanks to science and biology, we know that sugar can release nuerotransmitters in the brain that provide feelings of euphoria and sedation.

Wait a minute. Now that I think of it. Why do we even have the brain receptors such as GABA to provide the human body with euphoric effects? God made us in his image; I certainly hope that doesn't mean he's shooting up heroin to create a brain-based chemical reaction we call euphoria.

Oh the humanity. I just don't know what to think right now. Please advise. You seem to understand how we should conduct ourselves. I'm so lost.

You must be the 200th Internet person just this week to tell me about caffeine and sugar. You can't compare those things to pot and alcohol and you know it! And no state trooper will pull you over for having caffeine and sugar!

How old are you? Do you smoke pot? If so, that is terrible. Where do you even FIND marijuana? It is ILLEGAL! Who are you that you're above the law? Do your parents know you do this? The POLICE? Is this how you're going to raise your kids someday, to grow up and get high on POT? And what type of woman would want to date or marry a guy who smokes pot??? Think of your future!

Actually, I am female. And I do not smoke pot. At what point did I bring up marijuana? I've just seen you discuss mind-altering substances...including alcohol, which is legal for consumption but there are laws restricting it such as driving while intoxicated, public intoxication, etc.

I am asking a legitimate question concerning your logic. There was no need to accuse me of illegal behavior. That is taking a huge leap on the jumping-to-conclusions mat.

I actually want to know where the line should be drawn on which substances, herbs, and chemical compounds alter the mind. For example, does this include FDA-approved, legally prescribed medicine for psychological conditions? Does this include caffeine and sugar? How do you define which substances should be legal/illegal and at what threshold, according to your very deep-rooted beliefs, regarding which mind-altering substance is moral and which is immoral?

This obviously goes beyond the laws of the land because I assume (forgive me if I'm wrong) you would support the prohibition of alcohol. So I'm curiously and honestly asking for you to define your terms, logic, and threshold so that I can better understand your point of view.

So please, consider my legitimate questions rather than ASSUMING that I am a marijuana user. That is ridiculous.

Cindy,

I believe you are possessed by a demon. That can be the only explanation for your inability to communicate thoughtfully. Cast those demons out now before it's too late!
