NATIONAL DRINK BEER DAY RANT

AARGGHHHH! I just found out it is “National Drink Beer Day”! I signed onto the Internet to check my email, and on Yahoo’s main page I see that “National Drink Beer Day” is trending. I was like, “What????” and I see all these articles about how great it is to drink beer and what a cause to celebrate and everybody drink up, etc. After all the years I have ranted against alcohol, and then I find out we have a whole DAY devoted to drinking beer??

And we will never get the pot smokers to understand why it’s wrong and immature to use drugs, as long as nice, decent, grown adults think nothing of using a mind-altering drug in the form of alcohol. I have chastised pot smokers for years online, and their number one excuse is, “pot is safer than alcohol.” I tell them, “We shouldn’t smoke pot OR drink alcohol! How hard is that?” But they see all these people drinking alcohol, and think they are entitled to use THEIR drug. Even my hometown started an annual “brewfest” last year, holding their second one last week. And the local paper posted a big article about it on the front page raving about all the thousands of people who showed up to “enjoy craft beer.” Haven't they read a thing I've written??

Haven't they read a thing you've written?? Who gives a crap. You've spent 10 years ranting and raving and literally NO ONE CARES. Here's the blunt truth for you.... all of your effort, all of your time ranting and raving has been literally pointless. You are some unknown old lady, you have no scientific evidence backing up your claims. For all of your work I guarantee you have not influenced ONE person not to drink alcohol or smoke marijuana. Your the worst kind of crusader... not with science or facts, but simply because you feel you should be able to tell people what is and is not morally acceptable. Basically... you are a NAZI. You have literally accomplished nothing.. except making me now need to go smoke a joint to celebrate your ignorance. And me? I'm far from immature. I just finished medical school at the University of Michigan. :-). Smoke up!!

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your comment! I'll send it to the folks at the University of Michigan. I'm sure they'd love to read it!

Also, it's YOU'RE, not your. Didn't they teach you this in med school?

Sup anon, I live in Michigan myself.
Respect for getting into U of M

Yeah Michigan's a cool place (literally) But for real Cindy, for all of your hard work, no one cares. I honestly find nothing wrong with drinking, (Albeit I'm only 14 and don't drink) as long as it's in moderation. People who Binge drink have an issue but people like my father who has a pint or 2 every other week is perfectly normal, he even's invites some of his of age students over to brew with him!

But for real Cindy no one honestly cares if people enjoy a well crafted beer every now and then.

Dear Anonymous, You still don't get it! What am I supposed to do, tell God he is wrong? I have explained over and over that alcohol is against my religion! I'm a convert to the Mormon church and we have The Word of Wisdom, which we believe to be direct revelation from God saying that alcohol, tea, coffee, cigarettes and mind-altering drugs like marijuana are not for the body. We are taught the moral and physical reasons to avoid using these things. This HELPS us! If the Word of Wisdom is not true, then the entire Mormon church isn't true, and that means I have to drop out! But I know the church IS true! I studied, pondered and prayed a long time before joining this church! I have a testimony of the gospel and I can't just DENY that! I have been a Mormon for over 30 years! I can't imagine being a member of any other church! This HELPS us! It is GOOD to understand why we shouldn't use mind-altering drugs! What should I do, tell God he is wrong because some "anonymous" person online says there is nothing wrong with using alcohol in moderation?? And I have explained over and over that we will NEVER get the pot smokers to understand why it's wrong and immature to use drugs, as long as people use alcohol! Would you smoke POT "in moderation"? Heck no! Yet you think nothing is wrong with using a mind-altering drug in the form of alcohol??

And I have explained over and over that you don't even have to be Mormon to know not to drink! It's just COMMON SENSE! My whole point is that a grown adult should know better than to use a mind-altering drug to relax and unwind, have "fun", enjoy life, get high, buzzed, celebrate, socialize, etc. What a thing to do! And I have explained over and over about the health risks, how even in LOW DOSES, alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer. LOW DOSES! You say it's okay to drink "in moderation", well tell that to the woman who has breast cancer or rectum or liver cancer caused by using alcohol in lose doses!! We shouldn't use alcohol at all! Even if it were good for you, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong! Again, what should I do, tell God he is wrong?? All because some jerk online tells me it's okay to drink??? I am so sick of you people telling me this! This has gone on for YEARS online! Here I am trying to HELP people, trying to get them to THINK, to realize that there is a better way to live, that we shouldn't use mind-altering drugs like alcohol, and you all REJECT it! It's just so infuriating!! You shouldn't even have to be religious or Mormon to know not to drink! Can't you understand that???

Well just saying Cindy I personally am athiest and have read a couple different versions of the bible and in all of them it clearly states the servants of God drink Wine, one of the most alcoholic beverages, during celebrations. Compared to beer, wine is way more intoxicating in the volumes they drank ranging anywhere from 2-15 bottles for a 20 person part.

So dont give me the whole, It's against my religion, shit I'm honestly tired of it.

Cindybin said...

AARGGHHH, you still don't get it! You must be the 200th person just this week to tell me that Jesus drank wine, blah blah blah. I KNOW THAT! I have explained over and over that it is against my religion NOW. I am a convert to the Mormon church and this is the church in the LATTER DAYS. It is the RESTORED church, restored in the LATTER DAYS, by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It has the fullness of the gospel, the correct doctrines, the Priesthood, etc. Heavenly Father gave us the Word of Wisdom to help us TODAY. The Word of Wisdom is what we believe to be direct revelation from God saying that alcohol, tea, coffee, cigarettes and mind-altering drugs like marijuana are not for the body. We are taught the moral and physical reasons to avoid using these things. This HELPS us! Here I was THRILLED to learn about the Word of Wisdom all those years ago, yet I tell people online and they REJECT it. Don't you WANT to know that there is a better way to live?? And yes I KNOW that they used alcohol in Biblical times. But I have explained over and over that times were different then, and in many cases the water was unsafe and they had to use this to avoid getting sick! But the fact remains that the Word of Wisdom was given to us in the LATTER DAYS, meaning in the 1800's when the LDS church was founded, to help us TODAY. It is part of God's RESTORED CHURCH. What do you want me to do, tell God he is wrong? I studied, pondered and prayed a long time before joining this church! I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and I can't just deny that! And my whole point is that you don't even have to be Mormon or religious to know not to drink! It's just COMMON SENSE! A grown adult should be well past the age where they'd want to use a mind-altering drug to relax, get "buzzed", celebrate, socialize, etc. What a thing to do! And there are all the HEALTH RISKS! Haven't you read a thing I've written?? I have explained all this a million times, about how even in LOW DOSES, alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer. LOW DOSES! That alone means we shouldn't use alcohol! But even if it were healthy, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong!

And MUST you use profanity? You just casually type the sh-word like it's nothing! I have ranted against profanity for over 10 years online, too! Haven't you read a thing I've written? Do you realize there are LADIES on the Internet? And you know I'm a woman! Haven't you heard that a gentleman shouldn't swear in front of a lady? Be a gentleman! Is this how you talk in real life? What type of woman would want to date or marry a guy who uses such language? Don't you want to marry a NICE woman? Someone who will be a good mother to your children someday? Aren't you worth that? Think of your FUTURE!

Gabe said...

I'll be honest Cindy, you make me laugh. In fact I'll be so nice I'll let you use my first name.

Now firstly let me fill you in on the, ahem, Cancer diagnosis, the diagnosis are in fact, a minority. Now I'm assuming you only read the front page of whatever News channel you watch, but if you go in depth on the story you'll find that a mere 5-15% of women who drink alcohol, in large quantities, have a 3 times increase of the risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer. Small amounts have little to no effects on the female body.

Now onto your church, just because someone made a new church in the 1800's doesn't make it the latter days. Last I checked in US History women weren't allowed divorce, even from abusive husbands, women were supposed to stay home, raise the children, and maybe work some of the farm animals. 1800's are not latter days just because their a thousand years younger than the Jewish church.

And lastly profanity. Really? What are you 10? Where I live swearing isn't that big of a deal. In fact many "ladies" as you would say swear as well, and I can tell you damn well there are a dozen who enjoy my company. But really the profanity thing, grow up and take a step into the real world where swearing isn't a big deal.

Cindybin said...

To "Gabe": AARGGHHHH, YOU PEOPLE DRIVE ME NUTS! Yes I know that ladies swear! But that doesn't make it right! Can't you see that?? Is that the type of girl you want to bring home to mother? Someone who cusses up a storm??? All I'm saying is that a gentleman shouldn't swear in front of a lady! This is a very common, old saying that has been around for years! It is just good manners! And you guys who all say that ladies swear; well that is why you all think that YOU have to swear, too, for fear of being called a goody goody or a sissy! You hear ladies swearing and you think that YOU have to swear, and you think that ladies think nothing is wrong with it! Well that is NOT TRUE! There are lots of nice, decent ladies who do NOT swear! And you are more of a man if you DON'T swear. Remember that!

And I have explained over and over about how I studied, pondered and prayed a long time before joining the Mormon church! I asked God if it is true and I received a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel! I can't deny that! I knew nothing about Mormons while growing up! I learned about this church over 30 years ago when I was in my 20s. It is the RESTORED church, restored by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It has the fullness of the gospel, the correct doctrines, etc. If you would learn about the church and how it came to be, you would understand that and not say the things you are saying!

And I have explained over and over that there ARE studies that show that alcohol even in low doses significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer! I know there will be conflicting studies; there are conflicting studies about EVERYTHING. But there ARE studies that show this is true! And I have explained that even if alcohol were good for you, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong! Can't you see that?? We shouldn't use mind-altering drugs to get high, stoned, buzzed, relax and unwind, have "fun", etc. What a thing to do! And I have explained over and over that it is AGAINST MY RELIGION! We have The Word of Wisdom which we believe to be direct revelation from God saying that alcohol, tea, coffee, cigarettes and mind-altering drugs are not for the body. THIS IS PART OF MY RELIGION! What do you want me to do, tell God he is wrong and drop out of the Mormon church? I have explained over and over that I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I can't just deny that! I have been Mormon for over 30 years and studied, pondered and prayed and asked God if the Church is true! And I have explained over and over that you don't even have to be Mormon or religious to know not to drink! My husband isn't Mormon and not particularly religious and HE doesn't drink! Oh you people drive me nuts. You all say the same things over and over and over to me, thinking that you and you alone will get me to "see the light".

Cindybin said...

You people just drive me nuts! Here I am trying to HELP you, and you reject it! I try to help you understand why we shouldn't use mind-altering drugs like marijuana or alcohol, how unhealthy and unwholesome it is, and you just tear me apart! You reject everything I say! It is so infuriating! Why do you want to drink? WHY?? What is missing from your life that you would want or need to use a mind-altering drug to relax and unwind, have "fun", celebrate, socialize, etc.? I experimented with alcohol a bit in my immature teen years to be cool and bad and loosen up at a party, but I outgrew all that by the time I was 20 or so! And this was BEFORE I joined the Mormon church! And then I saw the Osmonds on TV and knew that they didn't drink, smoke, swear, take drugs, have premarital sex, etc. and they seemed so proud of this! I wanted to know what was behind their beliefs! When I was growing up, "everybody" drank, even my parents! But the Osmonds were different, and I wanted to know why. So I set out to learn more about the Mormon church, never thinking I'd actually JOIN it. Nobody in my family was Mormon, and I received flack from friends and family who believed weird things they had heard. But the more I learned, the more I knew I had to join. Not just because of the Word of Wisdom, of course, but because of the DOCTRINES, how it is the one true church, restored on the Earth by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the latter days. It HELPS us. Don't you want to know anything about it? Why do you reject it? Don't you want to know that there is a better way to live? Why do you put me down for everything I say?? You people are SO INFURIATING! Here I am trying to HELP you, trying to get you to THINK, and you just reject it and tear me apart. Here I was thrilled to learn about the Word of Wisdom and how we shouldn't use these substances, and I try to share this online and people just tear it apart!

And "latter days" means how it's the latter days in relation to all of time, in relation to the Biblical days, etc. Can't you understand that??

I am wandering something Cindy. You seem to feel t is very important to folow the teachings of your church and then you say tat your husband is not mormon. I know for a fact that your prophets teqch that you must be sealed in the temple for eternity to live with God in the here after. I know you wont post this but I dont care. Im writing this to you so I only need you to read it.
After all you've done to please your maker amd you may fall short. I lnow you were married before you became lds but here bishops have encouraged many woman to leave their husbands to find a worthy man that can bring them through the vail were God lives. Im not being mean, I just want to know how this sets with you.

To the anonymous person who asked about my religion and my marriage, this has come up many times before, especially on the old Yahoo boards where the mean pot smoking bullies would make fun of me and tell me what a failure I was and that I wouldn't go to heaven because my husband is not a Mormon. It was very hurtful. I had no idea that people were like this. I joined the Mormon church in the early 1980's long before there was the Internet. Anyway, as I told those people on the old Yahoo boards, I knew that my husband was not a member when I joined the church. I joined a year and a half or so after we were married. I didn't even start really studying about the church until after we were married. I joined because I knew it was what I had to do. My husband did not understand at the time, but he has since become supportive. And all this stuff about having to be sealed in the temple for eternity, etc., yes of course I know that. But what am I supposed to do, deny the Church? Just totally not join, or drop out, because my husband is not a member? Of course I can't do that! And who is to say my husband wouldn't ever become a member? I wasn't a member at one time; I knew nothing about Mormons while growing up! Yet I still ended up joining the church. There are many part-member families in the church, and I feel like it will all be sorted out in the end, in the afterlife. And I have never had a bishop or anyone in the church encourage me to leave my husband or anything like that. Everyone has always been very nice and respectful of every person and their family situation. It all boils down to how each individual must focus on themselves and build and strengthen their own testimony and just do the best they can in the situation they are in. That is all we can do.

April 20th, every year. :)
